How to Grasp the subject...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Miss/Mr Anonymous: Sir,I am studying for CSE for a..year now.I have BIG problem with GS. You know how it happen. You just don't know how to study ,what to study. Initially..I had problem with polity. I just couldn't grasp the subject. After much search and seeking somebody recommend me to buy Laxmikanth. My problem was solved. Now you know laxmicant is just word to word copy of DDBasu. But I couldn't study for months even when i had basu in hands. Now my BIG problem is economics. PLZ HELP

Manmauji: Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding your query, I can understand your problem. The solution of your problem lies in your mind. The first thing you do is start meditation for 30 Mts everyday. You need to be cool and calm in your mind. Don't burden yourself with the thought of preparing for CSE..If you are cool and calm in your mind, you can learn very fast and much more. If you are not able to grasp any thing, you should start reading that stuff very slowly. Devote 5 mts to each paragraph strictly with a watch in front of your eyes. These small techniques can solve your problem. For economics, you should start from NCERT. Clear your basics then purchase UMA Kapila book or any standard Economics book. Later on for updates you can purchase Pratiyogita Darpan Special Economics Bumper issue...Hope your doubts are clear by now..further query is welcome..keep blogging...

An audacious comment by Mr Prasanth

Hello all, I am publishing "as it is" one comment received on the blog written by Mr Prasanth. The views expressed by him are his own and Neutralviews is providing only the platform for wider circulation and mulling over.
"Kudos to Ms. Manju Madhavan, an IRS officer of 1971 batch, for foreseeing the biggest scam in modern India. She resigned as Member (Finance), DoT apparently upset over the decisions of the Minister and his IAS chelas. In doing so she displayed an exemplary character. People in the Government know how honest and upright an officer she is. At the outset let us put a big full stop to one of the biggest beliefs in India that the IRS is the most corrupt among civil services. Being a Department dealing with the Government finances the Income Tax Department had to bear such noises quite often. Many wrong aspersions are cast on the Department. Corruption thrives in the Income Tax Department just as the case with other Government Departments. But any taxpayer or a Chartered Accountant or a Tax Practitioner would agree that the corruption is more prevalent at the lower levels and among the promote IRS officers. The directly recruited IRS officers recruited through Civil Services Exam conducted by the UPSC are mostly honest and upright. They are masters at various finance related matters and IRS officers are the only civil servants in the country doing the original work in the Department. This greatly contributes to their understanding of the ground realities and one of the reasons for their high success in any field of work. IRS officers have shown their mettle when on deputation to the Central Secretariat and to PSUs. IRS is the only service which can dislodge the IAS from their positions both by their expertise (talent) and powerful service lobby. The IAS are vary of this fact and are trying their best to suppress IRS officers. It is very apparent from the CVC reports that among civil servants IAS officers are the most corrupt. The number of cases against IRS officers is the least among the civil servants. The number of disciplinary actions recommended by the CVC (incidentally headed by an IAS officer) is proof enough that IRS is not as corrupt as is perceived and IAS is as corrupt as the politicians. Everybody is talking about ‘Spectrum Raja’ but what about the IAS officers ‘Spectrum Pradip Baijal’ – former TRAI Chairman and Disinvestment Secretary, ‘Spectrum Vasudev’ – former Economic Affairs Secretary, ‘Spectrum Ajay Dua’ – former Industrial Policy and Promotion Secretary, ‘Spectrum Seth’ – former TRAI Member, and ‘Spectrum Chandolia’ – former PS to Raja. Almost all corruption cases in the country are because of IAS officers. This is happening because of the continuation of the British legacy. The ICS (IAS was then called so) was formed as an arm of the British to suppress the Nationalist Movement. Post-independence the IAS is being used by the politicians to achieve their narrow ends. It’s time to set the things right.
The IAS should be given a specific area of work. They should not be a jack of all trades but a master of one. All civil services should be given their due. An IRS officer is best suited to be a Revenue Secretary than an IAS, an IFS officer is best suited to be Secretary, Min. of Environment and Forests than an IAS, an IAAS officer is the best suited to be C&AG than an IAS officer, an IRS or IAAS or ICAS is best suited to be a Finance Secretary than an IAS, an ITS officer is best suited to be DGFT and Commerce Secretary than an IAS, an IIS officer is best suited to be I&B Secretary than an IAS officer, an IPS officer is best suited to be a Home Secretary than an IAS officer, Scientists are best suited to be Agriculture Secretary, Culture Secretary, New and Renewable Energy Secretary, Science and Technology Secretary, Water Resources Secretary and an educated sportsman is best suited to be a Sports Secretary. An IRS or IPS officer should be the CVC rather than an IAS officer. But why then IAS officers are heading all these Departments and holding the country to ransom. Come on its time to change all this. Modern world needs specialization and honest officers. Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has been a Finance Secretary without being an IAS officer. He knows how the IAS lobby arm twists the Government. He is the right person to take action and fortunately he is at the helm of affairs and in a position to get it done. One should understand that the politicians don’t have the wherewithal to amass huge amounts of illegal wealth. The logistics are provided by the IAS babus. Long back the Rajamannar Committee has recommended the abolition of IAS. This is nothing to do with the persons but related only to the character of the IAS as a service that breeds corruption, nepotism and self aggrandizement which ultimately leads to the failure of a nation."...keep blogging

Regarding optionals...reply to Miss SHRUTI SHARMA

Miss SHRUTI SHARMA : sir,my optionals are philosophy and pali litrature.i have almost completed both optionals. Are these optionals scoring?.........i have heard that taking such optionals may fetch very low marks in interview.
Manmauji: Hello Miss SHRUTI SHARMA, thanks for your visit on the blog and sorry for the delayed reply due to busy schedule...Regarding your query, I know several guys and girls who scored very well in these two optionals and cleared CSE with very good rank as well...So don't worry about it...It is not the optional, it is your knowledge and expertise in the subject which gives you marks...Optionals doesn't play any role in interview..they may ask questions from your optionals but if you know your subject well, you can answer them very nicely...good luck...further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding deputation....Reply to Mr Raghavendra

Mr Raghavendra: Sir,
I came across this blog few days before and really impressed by your guidance for the aspirations.
I'm and IPS aspirant, and my interest is mainly on joining investigating& Intelligence departments like IB and RAW instead of civil police.somewhere i heard that these days there is a direct deputation into organizations like IB,RAW for IPS probationers.Could you give me information on what are the chances of IPS probationers to enter in such depts.
Please give some focus on RAS also.
Thanks,Raghavendra

Manmauji: Hello Mr Raghavendra, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it....Regarding your query, it is good that you have such a dream and desire to serve in intelligence agencies...As far as I know, direct deputation in intelligence is not possible. you need to serve in civil police for some times then you can join them. However, in RAW, it is open recruitment from all the services to serve them directly after your probation is complete but you can not leave RAW once you joined in this system. However, I am not very sure about this fact. further query is welcome...keep blogging..

IRS Vs IAS...Reply to Miss Monu

Miss Monu: [1] would one repent if one opts for irs aahead of ias?considering the cadre system in ias would it not be better to opt for irs instead of ias if one wants to live a peaceful life .

[2] sir i am 25 years of age.i want to be an irs officewr.is it possible for me to still get selected with a gud rank if i work hard from now onwards.will my age be a barrier in my selection

[3]hello sir.i would like to know about philosophy as an optional in english medium.it is generally regarded as a low scoring optional in english medium.can u provide me with marks of candidates with philosophy in english medium.and would u suggest me to opt for it?what is ur advice.

Manmauji: Hello Miss Monu, thanks for your visit on the blog...I will reply your query on eby one:

[1] It is a matter of choice...If you like IRS then there is no need to compare with IAS and be happy..As you rightly said that the life in IRS is very cool and calm as compared to IAS.

[2]Your age won't be a barrier in your selection as you are just 25 yr..good luck.

[3] Philosophy is a good optional...Medium doesn't matter..if you have good command over the subject you can take it and can get good marks as well.

further query is welcome..keep blogging.

Regarding time management during PUB Ad & Geography papers...reply to Mr Ankur Yadav

Mr Ankur Yadav: hello sir first of all i would like to thank u for such noble and kind help to me and all other aspirants . It takes some pain and god work to reply to all d fellow blogers inspite of such hard work u must be doing . full credit to u and keep doing dis philantrophy.Sir i am preparing for d first time and my optionals are geog and pub ad (same as u) . i wanted to ask dat how u managed to give 4 papers back to back ? and what was ur strategy ??? i have interest in both dis subjects and don't want to leave dem just for d sake of dis condition . plz reply sir wht strategy should i employ ??? And also give ur views abt direction ias of neetu singh mam for geog as i plan to take coaching from dere. thanks a lot sir for everythng u have shared here and like to see more from u !!!! MAY U REACH D ZENITH OF SUCCESS IN LIFE

Manmauji: Hello Mr Ankur Yadav, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about the effort...Regarding your query, time management is very essential in mains and specially with Pub Ad and Geography optional....If you are interested in these optionals than you can continue with them otherwise you can think about other optionals as it is going to be a very difficult task...for smooth management, you need to have your mains notes in a very short and point form so that you can revise it in a very short span of time...you have to put lot of effort before the mains so that you need not require any revision at the time of exam...Regarding the coaching institute, you can attend Interaction or Synergy...I think they are covering full syllabus in detail...further query is welcome..keep blogging...

Regarding GS preparation...Reply to Mr GN Gayashree

Mr GN Jayshree: Sir,
Can you please tell me how to prepare for 2 markers in GS History.
Also how to make notes from newspapers and magazines for current events in GS? How to maintain notes? Can you please explain in detail Sir..Should we prepare notes from chronicle? What kind of notes we need to prepare on what topics?I have no idea how to approach GS current events..
For essay, can you please post a sample essay on your blogs? From where to get topics for essay?
Regards,Jayashree

Manmauji: Hello Mr Jayashree, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding your query, 2 marker in history can be prepared from NCERT books but since now you don't have time, you can buy 2 marker magazine and just mug the information...regarding notes from news papers, you must make them in short and in point form otherwise it will be bulky...you can have some spiral type note book and write point wise information on same topic...Regarding notes from chronicle, of course you can make notes and even prepare some answers from the topics given in chronicle...for idea about GS current, you can buy last years unsolved q papers of UPSC, and prepare notes accordingly...chronicle used to publish model answers of GS papers, you can make them a guide..Regarding Essay, Wizard magazine usually publish good essay, you can make them as a standard Essay for your practise...further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Regarding UPSC mains form..reply to Mr Swami

Mr Swami : i have not yet received any communication from upsc though i have been selected for CSM2010...so i already applied after downloading the forms from UPSC website....the pressnote says "In case, any of these candidates does not receive a communication in this regard from the Commission by 08/09/2010 he/she should immediately contact the Commission in the matter giving his/her particulars"...i tried to call the numbers given in the pressnote but no response...what should be done...if i have to write a letter to upsc, whom should i address ...please reply as i am worried about the Mains.
Manmauji: Hello Mr Swami, thanks for your visit on the blog....congrats for your success in CSE-2010...since you have applied already you need not worry about it...UPSC will take care everything...just focus on your mains preparation...good luck...further query is welcome..keep blogging..

FC Exam....Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Miss/Mr Anonymous: Sir,How will the Exams at the End of FC be?.Do they ask questions from the guest lectures and in what format objective/subjective?.Do we need to Study regularly( we don't get time to do it ) or last week preparation is enough?
Manmauji: Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog..Regarding FC exams, they are of subjective in nature and just like GS paper of UPSC...There will be questions from guest lectures also..You may find some difficulty in Law paper only as rest of the papers are very simple in suggestive in nature...you need not worry about it...last week preparation will be more than enough...just enjoy the best time of your life..believe my words this time will never come in your life as no responsibility with full pay....so just chill and enjoy each event of FC...good luck...share your FC experience with this blog...further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Regarding promotion...Reply to Miss Aditi Shankar

Miss Aditi Shankar: Sir, I liked you blog very much. I have one query. Can you please throw some light on time taken for promotions in Group A services. I would like to know how much time it takes approximately to move from one level to another e.g. JTS to STS and then to JAG and so on. Thanks in advance.
REgards
Aditi shankar
Manmauji: Hello Miss Aditi Shankar, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it...regarding your query, the promotion time varies on service to service as well on the availability of posts at higher level...However, as per 6th Pay commission, you will be promoted in a higher pay band with in fixed time scale without any change in the job profile..for e.g in IRS[C&CE], officer gets promoted from Asstt Commissioner to Deputy Commissioner in 2 years in general but there are evidences that officer is not promoted to DC but getting DC pay...further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Regarding Trade Service..Reply to Miss Tirumala

Tirumala: Dear Sir,My name figures in the 2008 reserve list. I should get trade service based on my choice in mains form and looking at the availability. Can you throw some light on ITS, specifically about promotions and service conditions as I am not getting any info in this regard on the Internet. Also, do you have any idea as to when the training might start? I am currently well employed, married and will end up doing a lot of juggling if I decide to join. It would help if I know the timeline for joining so that I can plan. Please help if you know something about my questions or if you can provide me some link. I would be grateful. regards
Tirumala

Manmauji: Hello Miss Tirumala, thanks for your visit on the blog and congrats for your success....Regarding your query, the scope of trade service is quite good as you will require to function under ministry of commerce..Since the cadre strength of ITS is very less so you will have good promotional chances...Since the service deals with corporates and trade aspects, you will have enough international exposure having numerous opportunity to travel abroad...Besides, you can join other ministry also on deputation after 5 years of service....But, as you have written that you are well employed, so in terms of salary and perks you may not get enough in ITS...Regarding the joining time, reserve list 2006 candidates are getting joining from 1st Oct..so I hope with in next week you will also get it but it depends on service to service...As you will undergo training in NIFT, New Delhi only so you may undergo training with your juniors in the month of December....further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Reply to Mr Rajeev Parashar

Query: Hi Neutral views,Thanks for the clear guidance you provide. I am a well educated person of 22 years. I have joined my Fathers business of about 40 employees in a junior leadership role. Do you think one can have a more fulfilling career, both for oneself and for the country, in the IAS / IA&AS / IFS / IPS / IRS / IC&CES than as an honest tax paying and hardworking businessman? Kindly reply in a manner that i am able to take a decision and focus resolutely on either my business (which incidentally is of a CHA, transport, etc) OR prepare earnestly for the CSE. Thanks and with very warm regards Rajeev Parashar.
Manmauji: Hello Mr Rajeev Parashar, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it...It is good that you are handling the business...In the present context, being a business man and paying good amount of taxes is very satisfying and nice service to the nation..Being in to civil service is a matter of choice...one can't say that only Civil servant are serving the nation...Every body is required in the service to the nation...Being in corporate , one can go for corporate social responsibility just like TATA or INFOSYS, you can get name, fame and satisfaction...Thus, you can be happy as well as serve the nation being in to corporate..there is no need to switch over to Civil Service...How ever it should be your internal desire which matters most...further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Regarding Answer Sheet...Reply to Mr Swami

Swami wrote: i got through Prelim. can u tel me detials abt Mains answer sheet...what to write on the front page...some of my friends told that many candidates do wrong in filling the front sheet....how to write the question Nos. and Page Nos. ...if we write Ans to 7th question in additional sheet then shuld we count the additional sheet after the mains sheet or are there numbering different....in that case how to differentiate between say page 5 of mainsheet with ans. No. 3 and page 5 of additional sheet with say Ans No. 8.....also tell me how to arrange all the sheets and putting them in order....some say all sheets andd graphs are arranged and put within the last page of the mains form....some say that only the graph sheets are put within the last page of the mainsheet while additional sheets are put after the mainsheet...some say all the other sheets have to be out after the main sheet, not within the last page of the answer sheet....the last page of the answer sheet refers to the one with the instructions.do reply.

Regarding Eye power...Reply to Mr AK

Mr AK wrote: sir,my query is regarding eye spects power myopia allowed in upsc.. i believe the limit given in the mains gazette for technical services (ips, irts, etc) is -4.o.. my power is more than that.. but i have heard that people with power more than -4.0 also have been allotted ips in the past.. can u shed some light on this matter..
Manmauji's Reply: Hello Mr AK, thanks for your visit on the blog...regarding your query, there are some technical requirement of IPS in relation to eye site, you can go through the details in UPSC gazette. There are of course some candidates who make to IPS above eye site 4 + but it may be slightly more than 4...Any major power e..g. 5 or above shall not be allowed as it will be dangerous to your safety. So you can enquire about it and if have more power than go for LASIK or some other advance techniques to get rid of speck....further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Comment from Miss/Mr Anonymous: "You are in Group A Service, no body can touch you...." What do you mean by this? Are we appointing people for an Aramdayak career in the Government? In corporates its the reverse. Top executives are always held accountable for performance and it is the equivalents of Group Cs and Group Ds who can not be touched. It is not a healthy mindset to have .... nobody can touch you!! After all as a Public servant drawing salary this mentality reeks of rent seeking.
Manmauji's Reply: Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog and taking pain to write straight from the heart....Regarding your comment, I think it has been mis- conceived by you and taken in wrong context. I fully agree with your views about the accountability of senior executives and specially Group A officers...The quoted phrase was written in the context of a query from a reader of this blog who want to know about IAS scope as he was selected in IRS[IT] and was confused whether he should appear again for the exam to become an IAS. His/her apprehension was that whether he will get the time for the preparation and whether he will be harassed by anybody in the field for preparing for the Civil Service Exam..In this context it was replied that he need not worry about it as no body can harass un- necessarily on this ground and thus this quote was written that 'You are in Group A Service, no body can touch you'...I hope that I am able to make my point clear and politely disagree with your allegation on the particular post....further comments are welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding the FC exemption...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog and congrats for your success in CSE...Regarding your query, I have already written in my previous blogs that you should not worry about it, if you have applied it on DoPT for exemption then just relaxed...your name may not reflect on exemption list on MCRHRD list....prepare well for mains...good luck....further query is welcome...keep blogging.....

Reply to Mr Kamlesh

Hello Mr Kamlesh, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding your query, some of the candidates may not be able to clear in 1st medical test thus DoPt must have blocked their allocation... As soon as they will get the clearance from medical board they will be allotted to their respective services....this may be the reason behind the remaining seats in IAS on DoPt website...Regarding the category on the allocation list on DoPT, the reflected category means that whether a particular candidate got any benefit under the reflected category...e.g. if a OBC candidate name reflected as general candidate than it means, he/she got the allocation in general category despite being an OBC candidate....further query is welcome....keep blogging....

Regarding movable assets..Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog....Congratulations on your grand success in CSE-09....Regarding your query, you can declare LIC policy as well...as per rule you have to declare all liquid assets [i.e. which can be converted in to cash easily] specifically in your name which includes gold and other types of jewellery as well...further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Monthly take home salary...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog....Congratulations on your grand success in CSE-09....Regarding your query, If salary is the only criteria to join civil services for you then you are requested to stay in your present profession in PSU as salary here is half of that you are getting right now...In FC, you will get only Rs 21000/- only and after words you will get Rs 27000/- in hand only......further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Reply to Mr Nitin

Hello Mr Nitin, thanks for your visit on the blog....Congratulations on your grand success in CSE-09....Regarding your query, I had a discussion with a guy in DoPT on this issue, he told that you have to join FC...Still, you can contact to DoPT and some senior officials there regarding this matter....but one thing is sure, if you are finally upgraded to IFS in between, you will not be allowed to write CSE mains by UPSC and even if you appeared, your result will not be declared by UPSC...It has happened earlier also....further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Regarding FC exemption...Reply to 123

Hello 123...thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding the address of DoPT, if you are in Delhi, you can go and give your application to DoPT directly or else, at the time of interview, you must have submitted 6 photocopies of your biodata to DoPT...you can send the FC exemption application on the same address....further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Regarding FC exemption...Reply to All

Hello All successful candidates of CSE-2009...Congrats for the grand success in CSE and thanks for your visit on the blog...I am getting numerous mails regarding FC...The problems are numerous..I have classified them in few categories and replying the same:
[1] For those who want to join FC but not received any communication from DoPT: No need to worry about it...You can check out your name on DoPt website and just join the allotted academy with descriptive rolls filled. Even if you didn't receive descriptive rolls from the respective academy, you can download them from the respective academy website..If website download is not working you can even join the academy without them as you will get these rolls in the academy. So, no problem at all..just book your seat and join the big fun waiting you.
[2] For those who want to take exemption from FC:
You can apply for the exemption online on the DoPT website mentioning your roll no of CSE-2010..This will be more than enough...If still, your soul doesn't get satisfaction then you can write a simple letter to DoPT mentioning your roll no of CSE-2010 and intention to take exemption from FC...you need not send any application to the respective academy regarding FC exemption...It may take some time for DoPT to update your name in the FC exemption list..But you should not worry about it and focus on your mains preparation. You should not go for a drive to check whether you are exempted from FC or not..immediate acknowledgement may not be given.
[3] Regarding letter from Parent department:
The letter from your respective service parent department will be sent in the month of November/December only after final updation of the services by DoPT...till that time you all are under the control of DoPT...after the final allocation of services [upgradation of provisionally allocation of services], your file will move to your respective departments and then you will get a formal letter from the training academy and appointment letter from your respective ministry...so have some patience and enjoy the time.
You should remember one thing that now you have been selected by UPSC and approved by DoPT...you will be taken care by them now onwards...So, just enjoy and focus on FC or mains preparation...good luck.

Reply to Mr Ajay Chikara

Hello Mr Ajay Chikara, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it...Sorry for the delayed reply...Congratulations on your success in CSE....Regarding your query, I will reply one by one:
[1] The temporary service allocation means your service can be updated to your higher preferences in the month of December. It doesn't have any relation with your wrong category status in your UPSC mains form. So be relaxed about it.
[2] You can check your service allocation on DoPT website..If OBC is mentioned against your name and service allocation, then you got the benefit otherwise not.
[3] You can't change your category status in between the process of exam or service allocation.
[4] You can view the questions put by blog readers in the left side column of the blog where recent comments are coming.

Regarding inter batch seniority...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog ...Regarding the reserve list, it is true that inter batch seniority will be maintained...It will be done as follows..All the reserve list candidates will undergo training at their respective Academy...After that they will be posted in a same pay scale as their original batch mates and probably at the same senior post [not confirmed] with few months of junior posts...It has happened with some railway services candidates few years back....Thus it may happened that you will work with your juniors but drawing different salary....But you will not get any accumulated salary for this period i.e. from 2006 [your CSE year]to 2010...Further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog..Congrats for your success in CSE-2009...The schedule of FC is very tough and tiring but full of fun..It will be 5 days a week in general but will extend to Saturday as well...As per rules, no leave is allowed during FC..though you can call your family members to the venue of FC...No station leave is allowed except under compelling situations....For more details, I have written blog on FC schedule..you can read it in previous blogs labeled as FC or IAS training....further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Regarding NACEN....Reply to Mr Kushagra

Hello Mr Kushagra, thanks for your visit on the blog....Congratulations on your grand success in CSE...Regarding your query, I will reply one by one:
[1] Since, this year your batch size is huge, you may be trained at three places Faridabad,Mumbai and Chennai [not confirmed]....NACEN Faridabad has few marriage accommodation but Mumbai and Chennai don't have it...So you have to wait till the final allocation of place to you for your departmental training. If you will be at Faridabad, you can get family accommodation with in a week time.
[2] The gap between FC and Departmental training is generally 1 week only maximum. It may be lesser also.
[3] You are entitled for AC two tier or economy class air fare [from AIR India only]...but I am not sure whether you Will get this to join FC...after FC, you will full entitlement to join your academy.
[4] For IRS[C&CE], there are no compilation of rules related to use of beacon lights. you can have some idea from motor vehicle act which varies from state to states.

Regarding police verification...Reply to Mr Vijay

Hello Mr Vijay, thanks for your visit on the blog....Congratulations on your success in CSE....Regarding your query, I wrote about police verification that CID may visit...In your case and your friends, it may have happened that your local police station may have conducted the verification through your neighbours secretly and sent the report...In my case, two persons from CID came...any way it doesn't matter much until and unless you have any criminal back ground [hopefully you will not have] and bad past....It is the job of DOPt..let them do their job...you need not worry about it....further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding Job Experience...Reply to Mr Rituraj

Hello Mr Rituraj, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding your query, UPSC doesn't demand any experience certificate. Regarding property returns....Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding your query...Movable property as mentioned in the form means jewellery, cash balance, etc and immovable property means land,house,etc....The intention behind such declaration before joining the service is to keep track on your personal wealth after joining service....You need to declare your movable and immovable assets every year to the department which you are going to join....Government think that by such declaration, they can curb corruption as you have to declare your source of income if you add any new assets in your name...If you will not be able to explain the source you may fall in to trouble...Regarding veracity of the declaration, as such in the beginning there will not be any fact finding, but you can't negate such verification in case of exponential declaration of assets owing to your socio-economic background...you may be kept under watch if your declaration are exceptionally unique...thus be careful and relax also as in the beginning of the service, there is no tension on this point but after joining service you will have to be a bit careful...further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Reply to Mr Don Anon

Hello Mr Don Anon, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding your query, I didn't come across any person so far who faced any problem regarding this matter...It is better that you just intimate your organisation about appearing in CSE exam...because, if your dept later on come to know about it and if they send report or fax to UPSC than you may face some problem as an Group A officer because providing wrong information is a crime to Group A officer under conduct rules....It is your mis conception that your organisation will delay your promotion or you will undergo any harassment in your organisation if you did not clear in UPSC....if it is a govt organisation, you need not worry about it as they can't create any problem...I have several friends in civil services who worked in DRDO,ISRO,NTPC,etc who declares and later on in that attempt they didn't qualify in CSE but never had any problem and when they got selected in next attempt they came out with flying colours with all promotion benefits, etc..further query is welcome....keep blogging...

Regarding Second Career...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding second career after Civil Services, IRS[C&CE] and IRS[IT] officers are most required in private sectors as the industry has continuous interaction with these two departments.....so if you want to quit after some time from the Civil Service, you can get handsome package if you belongs to IRS.....further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding IRTS....Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog....Facilities in IRTS are good enough...you will have big house only..Since railways is yours you can use it any number of times to any where in the country...Since, railway colony is always near railway stations, there is no provision for vehicles at the junior position....Servants are not available to any service except IAS, IPS [ as DM only and for IPS it is in plenty] and other defence service legally...though you can use the resources illegally but you are not officially provided.. in revenue service you have lot of vehicles on your disposals but some times not officially....But I am using officially brand new Innova...so it is cooooooollllllll some times.....further query is welcome....keep blogging...

IAS Vs IRS[C&CE]...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding IAS Vs IRS[C&CE]...there is no comparison between IAS and IRS[C&CE] as the area of work is entirely different...Beacon light is a position specific..There are several posts where even IAS is not entitled for beacon..same is the case for IRS[C&CE]...as an Asstt Commissioner, you are not officially entitled for beacon light but We generally use it...If you are in anti-evasion wing, you can officially have beacon light...So, light is not a big factor in deciding the things..once you sit inside the vehicle, you can't see the beacon light and in fact after some time it doesn't matter whether you have light or not on your vehicle..your work speaks louder than beacon lights...I know several officers who don't prefer beacon light vehicle even they are entitled for it....your choice should be based on your area of interest and your intention...I have written several blogs on this matter...You can earn good name only when you love and enjoy your work be in IAS or IRS[C&CE]..of course working conditions are much better in IRS[C&CE] as compared to IAS and of course it is specialised service..you have peaceful Saturday and Sundays which is not possible in IAS..thus choice is yours...further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Regarding Eye Test...Reply to Mr Atreya

Hello Mr Atreya, thanks for your visit on the blog......It is true that you will be asked to declare few things, but I don't remember that there is any question regarding eye operation...See, there are lot of written rules which are not being followed in the practise...So, if you want to see yourself in IPS then don't declare it..there is no harm as LASIK is an approved technique now...The objective is you should be able to see clearly without high no of glass...if this objective is full- filled, there is no point of objection....further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding the impact of SC judgement on Rule-16[2], I have already written number of blogs..Kindly see them.Since CSE-2009 result was prepared on the basis of Rule-16[2] which has been further validated by honourable SC, there is no chance for any increase or decrease of seats for any candidate of any category i.e. General/OBC/SC/ST...further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding Pub Ad and Geography..Reply to Miss Jayashree

Hello Miss Jayashree, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding the E-mail Id and name of the books read by Mr K. Mishra whose marks are available on the blog, I want to clarify that We don't have any contact with the said candidate..We have published the marks because somebody asked his marks and we were able to fetch the mark sheet from the UPSC server...Thus we don't know who is he and what all books he read.
Besides, regarding your other query, Yes, I had Pub Ad and Geography as an optionals....ALS printed notes are quite comprehensive..you can reply on them..You should refer other books for diagrams and any uncovered topic in the books only..If possible you can get Mr Alok Ranjan's geography class notes..These will be sufficient...Regarding Pub Ad, Fadia and Sadana are very good books...if you are able to get the concept from these books, it will be suffice....Mohit Bhattachaya is a good book in the sense that it will give you the idea of writing in short about all the things..It's language is good and gives very new ideas which can be incorporated in the answers. Thus after completing Sadana or fadia, you can just go through MB, it will serve your purpose...further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding the reserve list for CSE-2006/07/08...It is expected to be released by 2nd week of August..As per my information, this is the reason behind the delayed release of service allocation list of CSE-2009..otherwise, it used to be released by last week of July or 1st week of August.....good luck...further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding Eye Operation...Reply to Miss/Mr Atreya

Hello Miss/Mr Atreya, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding your query, you can go for LASIK for your eyes..There will not be any problem in medical for IPS...You need not declare it at the time of medical test that you have gone through LASIK...Besides, it is a highly modern technique with 100% success rate...Thus you can go ahead...good luck...further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding Police verification...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...I am sorry for the delayed reply due to very hectic schedule in the office.....Regarding police verification, you need not worry about it. Some person from the police department or CID department may visit your home and will get some normal details about you and your family....The police verification is compulsory for each service and not only for IPS...Regarding Rule-16[2], I have already posted a blog in a very simplified language..kindly search it on the blog...Besides,There will not be any effect of Rule-16[2] on the declared result because it has been prepared according to Rule-16[2]......The service allocation for CSE-2009 is expected in the second week of August...further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding AUGMUT..Reply to Mr Ajay Pratap

Hello Mr Ajay Pratap, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding your query, you need not worry about Hindi/Non Hindi...Even if you don't get north states, then you will have the good tutor facility to teach you a language of your cadre state..Regarding AUGMUT, of course there will be insider/outsider criteria, but since requirement of Delhi is quite high, you will have fare chance to work more in Delhi...further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding cadre...Reply to Miss/Mr Ias

Hello Miss/Mr Ias, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding your query, Cadre is a term used for indication of a particular state in which officials of All India Service e.g. IAS,IPS and IFoS[Forest Service] have to serve throughout their career. For e.g. Mr X belongs to UP Cadre..It means Mr X is a all India service officer who got UP state for his entire career..However, in between, officials can come to Centre on deputation for few years..after that term, they have to go back to their cadre state...It means, even if your home state is Tamil Nadu, if you are allotted J &K cadre, then you have to serve in J & K only except few deputation posting at Centre or other places. In the same way, Delhi comes under AUGMUT cadre in which apart from Delhi, other Union territory[UT] comes where you have to go periodically...further query is welcome..keep blogging..

IIM or IAS/IPS...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding your dilemma, it is very natural in current milieu..See, it should be entirely your decision based on your own dreams and requirements. If you are power hungry, attracted by red/blue beacon lights, body guards, want to work for common people, etc then you must go for IAS/IPS. There are ample examples in IAS/IPS who want to take VRS because they may not be satisfied with the slow working style of government set up, less salary, decreasing power, interference by politicians, etc. Thus if you belongs to 5 star and metro culture, want to have huge money [of course clean], living in big houses, travel by BMW or Mercedez, frequent travel abroad, etc then you must think about IIM and corporates because you can't get these things in government service legally. Therefor be clear about your dreams/goals then decide the course of action...In any case, in coming future, era of specialist is coming...grass root democracy is strengthening, literacy is increasing thus no more IAS domination will be there. But of course, IPS is going to be stronger day by day due to law and order problems and related complications.further query is welcome...keep blogging...
