Regarding Psychology and scaling...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it....Regarding your query, You can go ahead with Psychology as your second optional if you have deep interest in it....You need not worry about the scaling pattern or strategy of UPSC.....Nobody knows exactly about the particulars of UPSC.....You should concentrate on your studies....Finish the syllabus and prepare well...Every year, candidates get good marks in all the optionals and finally selected also....thus, complete your syllabus well and leave all the sundry things on UPSC and GOD..The result will be positive....I wish you a great success in CSE...further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Hello Mr Harsh Thakur, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it....Regarding your query, since your cousin's father belongs to Group-A service [even he is rettd], so I don't think that he will get the benefit of OBC though the income is much below than prescribed limit of Rs 400000/- [Approx]..Still, I will suggest you that you consult some other person in the government as well on this issue or you can check out on some websites.....Regarding your other query, I have published one write up on cut off..kindly read that post.....further query is welcome...keep blogging...I am posting one comment on this issue for your reference

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding your query about IRS[C&CE], you rightly said that IRS[C&CE] is an uniform service...Officials who are posted for preventive work [e.g. anti-evasion, anti-smuggling etc] are given revolvers, pistols,etc...For your information, Customs department has very modern weaponry in its command which includes even machine guns at few locations...But, for general duty, IRS officer doesn't requires any weapon as such......further query is welcome....keep blogging..

Hi All CS(P) 2010 candidates
This year GS paper was slightly difficult and almost all the optionals in social sciences were tough. So in subjects like History, Public admn, Geography, economics, Pol Sc etc. as I guess there would be unexpected fall in the cut off percentile this year. There are many more vacancies than last year. So even if you are getting 60 in optional and 50 in GS or 66 in optional and 35 in GS or a total of 200 with a min 30 in GS do not lose hope. I see there is enough chances this year for you guys.
best wishes
