IAS Vs IRS [C&CE] pay package...reply to Mr/Miss Anonymous

Hello Mr /Miss Anonymous , thanks for your visit on the blog…..Congratulations for getting in to prestigious IRS[C&CE]…..regarding your query, the pay package for group ‘A’ posts is same for all the services including IAS…but the chances of promotion are quite fast in IAS and hence better pay package in later years for IAS as suggested by 6th pay commission…in this sense, IAS has better pay package at senior level compared to IPS and any other services….in fact it was quite demoralizing for the officers who were selected through same process but having different pay packages at senior level with same number of service years…in fact all the services except IAS have made the representation before 6th pay commission but of no avail….but I feel that money is not the only motivating factor as vindicated by several human relations theories….If you enjoy your work, every service has good pay package and career advancement opportunities….regarding your other query, since your batch is huge in size and your senior batch [2008] is also big…there may be some problem of promotion..but restructuring in the department is in the pipe line along with the coming GST, I hope that various new chief commissionerate will come up and hence the problem of promotion will not be there after few years….further query is welcome…keep blogging….
