Reply to Miss/Mr Mission

Hello Miss/Mr Mission, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding the strategy for CSE-2011 Pre...as I have already written on this topic earlier, since nobody known about the exact pattern of GS in CSE-2011 Pre, you should wait for the notification for this exam by UPSC....Till that time, you must prepare the GS on conventional lines...In any case, some features of the present GS paper will remain in the new pattern too....Thus ,it is advisable to not to go from pillar to post and concentrate on the conventional part of GS....But, at this time you must focus on mains preparation as there is no change in mains pattern....After the notification in Dec-2010, you can start for prelims....You can join coaching for GS if you think that you can't prepare on your own....Some good institutes are :
[1] Vaji Ram & Ravi
[2] ALS
[3] Dhyeay IAS
However, you must go and see yourself about the veracity of these coaching institutes.....further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Reply to Mr Harsh Thakur

Hello Mr Harsh Thakur, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it....Regarding your query, since your cousin's father belongs to Group-A service [even he is rettd], so I don't think that he will get the benefit of OBC though the income is much below than prescribed limit of Rs 400000/- [Approx]..Still, I will suggest you that you consult some other person in the government as well on this issue or you can check out on some websites.....Regarding your other query, I have published one write up on cut off..kindly read that post.....further query is welcome...keep blogging...I am posting one comment on this issue for your reference

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding your query about IRS[C&CE], you rightly said that IRS[C&CE] is an uniform service...Officials who are posted for preventive work [e.g. anti-evasion, anti-smuggling etc] are given revolvers, pistols,etc...For your information, Customs department has very modern weaponry in its command which includes even machine guns at few locations...But, for general duty, IRS officer doesn't requires any weapon as such......further query is welcome....keep blogging..

Hi All CS(P) 2010 candidates
This year GS paper was slightly difficult and almost all the optionals in social sciences were tough. So in subjects like History, Public admn, Geography, economics, Pol Sc etc. as I guess there would be unexpected fall in the cut off percentile this year. There are many more vacancies than last year. So even if you are getting 60 in optional and 50 in GS or 66 in optional and 35 in GS or a total of 200 with a min 30 in GS do not lose hope. I see there is enough chances this year for you guys.
best wishes

Hello Miss/Mr Calmness in panic, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding your query, since you belongs to OBC category, you can always avail the benefits [6 attempts, 33yrs age] at any stage despite the fact that you have earlier applied twice as a general candidate...Thus there is no cause to be tensed....further query is welcome...good luck...keep blogging...

Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding your query, for IPS, medical fitness is must and there should not be any colour blindness...The height requirement is 165 Cm......Regarding IRS[C&CE] and other services which are non technical, there is no such height, weight requirement...Even colour blindness candidates does not have any problem in IRS or any other services except IPS and IRTS.....still you need to be fit for your own sake....Regarding the attempt, since you didn't appear in CSE-2010 pre, it won't be counted as an attempt...So don't worry, you have saved your attempts.....further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Hello Mr Prasanth Balantrapu, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it...Regarding your query, you have taken right direction....The schedule is perfect....Regarding the current affairs, you are doing right thing....besides, you can purchase Civil service Chronicle monthly magazine of current affairs...so that you can cover all the topics untouched in news papers...you can prepare notes from the important topics...it will be helpful at the time of exam....the ideal time limit for current affairs is from oct2010.....but it is always better to develop the habit of making notes in point form......Yojana is a good magazine....you must keep all the issues and read them in the month of August,2011 only..that time you will be in a position to identify the important topics....Regarding Essay, it is always good to right as many essays as possible..thus your approach is correct for Essay.....further query is welcome....good luck for CSE-2011.....keep blogging...

Reply to Mr Manish

Hello Mr Manish, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding Law as an optional in CSE, It is a good optional with huge scoring potential....Zoology is now a days down in terms of scoring...But you can see both the extreme....some gets high marks in law while some got very poor marks in law also..Same is the case with other science optional...Thus, you should not worry about the score..You must check out your interest in the particular optional...if you have deep interest in law as well as in Zoology, you can score very high marks in both the optional...Some Aspirants got very good rank from these optionals e.g. Miss Kinjal Singh [AIR-25, CSE-2007].....all the best....further query is welcome..keep blogging...

Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding your query, Central Services such as IRS[C&CE] or IRS[IT] have all the facilities which are being given to all Group-A officers e.g. Vehicle, dwellings,etc....But it depends on your place of postings..If you are in metro cities you may not get vehicle or proper house...It will take some time to get all this at bigger places depending on the availability...But this is the case with All India Services also e.g. IAS, IPS...They too have to stay sometimes in rented accommodation due to non availability of houses.....Regarding IRTS, they have good accommodation facilities at all the places near by railway stations but don't have much vehicle facilities...Even it is not required in IRTS as they live near to their offices....So don't worry about it...These are sundry things.....further query is welcome...keep blogging..

Regarding salary during FC...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...congratulations on your getting in to IRS[IT]....regarding your query, the salary during foundation course is Rs-21000/- only...from this ,mess dues and hostel charges will be deducted....this amount is the stipend only....the rest of the amount you will get when you will join NADT i.e. your parent academy [approx Rs 40,000/- only in bulk]....In your academy ,during entire training, you will get full salary i.e Rs-27000/- only with some increments along with DA bonus in between....Thus it depends on your life style..how much you want to spend which will decide whether you require money from parents or your salary will be sufficient...further query is welcome..keep blogging..

Reply to Mr Rajesh

Hello Mr Rajesh, thanks for your visit on the blog....I think, you should get IRS[C&CE] at your rank...this year the approximate number of seats in IRS[C&CE] are 178....Just wait for few more days..hold your breadth....all the best...further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Reply to Mr Arun

Hello Mr Arun, thanks for your visit on the blog ...Congratulations on your grand success in CSE-2009...Regarding your query, there is no problem in second medical board....You will receive your letter from DoPt very soon regarding the date and time where you can appear for medical test...But for that You have to send Rs-100/- demand draft from any nationalised bank [just check out the amount..It is approx 100/-]..All the details will be available on DoPt website also with in few days...The final report and service allocation will come in the month of July only...Thus you can approximately calculate your service according to your rank and accordingly apply for the resignation from your previous job because you will not get much time afterwards as Foundation Course[FC] will commence from last week of August or 1st September...In case you again disqualified in colour blindness test then you will be debarred from IPS,IRTS and RPF only....thus not much problem....enjoy the best moments of your life....further query is welcome..keep blogging...

Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it...Regarding your query, Tehsildar is a generalist civil servant....He is engaged in general administration while ETO [Excise & Taxation officer] is a specialist civil servant where he/she will engaged in various types of tax collection only....Thus it's scope is quite narrow...Sincle clientele base of both the services is different, you can't say which one is good or bad...It depends on you...If you are good in commerce, you can go for tax service..IF you like more people to people contact, you can choose Tehsildar....However, you can ask for promotional avenues in each of these services from your seniors...you must choose those services where promotional avenues are more.....further query is welcome..keep blogging...

Reply to Mr Rajesh

Hello Mr Rajesh, thanks for your visit on the blog....I have written extensively on the scope of IRS[C&CE] after GST...still, the scope will further increase by many fold as number of accessee will be multiplied...So far IRS[C&CE] had the say till manufacturing stage only, after GST, they will have the say in numerous state taxes e.g entertainment, sales tax [as they all be included in GST] etc...The state commercial dept will also survive but centre will always be ahead of them.....Regarding IRS[IT], after direct tax code they will loose their discretionary powers...Besides, this job is clerical in nature...if you have commerce back ground or CA then you can survive better....apart from it, the service conditions of IRS[C&CE] are much better than IRS[IT]....the only advantage in IRS[IT] is their greater visibility on common people life as most of us are paying income tax but the maximum revenue of IT dept comes from industry as corporate tax and not from individual income tax.....this is true to IRS[C&CE] as well....
See, I want to tell you one thing, all the services under central government or state government are facing changes due to changes in the milieu, growth of democracy, education and awareness among the masses...Thus, We should change our mindset too...We can't think the golden era of civil services during British...This will no more...We must accept the reality that we are working in a democratic set up now where civil services is the most pious job one can fortunate to have the opportunity to perform.
Regarding the facility to probationers, you have very good facilities along with intensive travelling by Air India across the country...after posting, you have all facility entitled to Group 'A' officer e.g house, vehicle, etc.....but these facilities will of course will not be comparable to IAS, IPS or IFS...... so I can firmly say that your decision is right...further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog...First of all congratulations on your grand success in CSE-2009 as well as in IFS exam....Regarding your query, IRS[C&CE] is much better than IFS and IRS[IT] in all terms e.g. Power, prestige, working conditions, perks etc....As I have already posted some write ups on IRS[C&CE] Vs IRS[IT]...ultimately It depends on individual choice...IFoS is an All India Service where you will be allotted single state to work in through out your career except some years on deputation...Now A Days All India services requires too much political connections to survive peacefully and successfully....Besides, they are suffering from huge political interference too...In IRS, you don't have these problems...thus you can decide....However, since you have some more attempts, you can always appear for IAS or IPS.....Regarding the foundation course, so far I know, it is going to be mandatory but it may change at the last moment as it happened last year...good luck...further query is welcome..keep blogging...

Regarding the reserve list....Reply to Mr Manish

Hello Mr Manish, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding your query, since Supreme Court has come out with the verdict in the matter of Rule-16[2] of civil services....the reserve list is pending from probably year 2005....So, I believe UPSC will start from year 2005 to clear the backlog as soon as possible...Thus, I see very limited possibility that the reserve list of CSE-2009 will come before CSE-pre 2010....Further query is welcome..keep blogging...

Reply to Mr Ashu

Hello Mr Ashu, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it...Regarding your query, UPSC probably prepare the final list according to the total marks obtained in mains exam....after this list, they apply reservation and accordingly candidates are taken out from the respective category list...The same procedure they follow after addition of interview marks...Since, competition is huge now a days, there is no much difference as such among the different category candidates...There have been some incidences e.g. in Rajasthan PCS, where the cut off of OBC category was higher then general category in one year....However, this is the prudent guess only, Nobody knows exactly, how UPSC works.....further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Reply to Mr Sandeep

Hello Mr Sandeep, thanks for your visit on the blog....Whatever you said is very true.....I wish you a good luck and pray that you get IPS....still, even if you don't get it, no problem, IRS is also very good service with huge scope of work....It is better sometime to leave somethings on luck.....Just wait for DoPt final list....further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Reply to Mr Puneet

Hello Mr Puneet, thanks for your visit on the blog....Regarding your query, you didn't mention the category of your friend...Any way if he is in general category, He may get IRS[C&CE] at his rank...However, IAAS is sure for him....just wait for few more days...Let DoPt comes with the list...further query is welcome...keep blogging....

Can I change my category status after result...Reply to Miss/Mr Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog..Congratulations for grand success in CSE-2009....Regarding your query, you should not have done this blunder by not mentioning your category status in UPSC mains form....you rightly said that according to Rule 16[2] of civil services [ which have been upheld by Supreme Court] if any body from category gets IRS or any other service in general seats then he will be shifted to his/her respective category and will be allotted better service.....but since you haven't mention your category in the form, you will be considered as general candidate and will get the service accordingly...Now, the claim for reservation is not possible...However, you can give some try and write an application to Dopt along with your caste certificate....but I see very remote possibility in this case....In any case, with your current rank, you will definitely get IRS[IT] which is not at all less on any count to any other service.....wish you a good luck....further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Regarding IAAS...reply to Miss/MR Anonymous

Hello Miss/Mr Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it....Congratulations on your grand success in CSE-2009...Regarding Indian Audit and Account service, It is one of the most powerful service because you will be conducting audit on all the financial transactions in the government. You will have lot of opportunities to serve on deputations as well in WTO,IMF,World Bank, UN, etc... It's cadre management is finest among all the central services....Of course, you will need to give the choices for the postings at the end of your training schedule....Your training academy is located at Shimla and have fabulous building infrastructure....Your CAG office in New Delhi is grand....You can visit your academy website and CAG website for more details about the transfer policy and other details.....congrats once more...further query is welcome..keep blogging...

Reply to Mr Sandeep

Hello Mr Sandeep, thanks for your visit on the blog...Regarding your query, the allocation of the services in CSE is a complicated process....I wish you good luck that you get IPS...but I see very remote possibility at your Rank...regarding your calculation, actually you can't have clear idea at this time...It will be clear only when DoPt will come out with category wise list....The process of allotment is like this...for eg. If one guy from reserve category get good rank in general list and suppose he gets IAS or IPS in general list then he will be allotted seat in general category only if he has not taken any benefit of reservation i.e. number of attempts, age factor, etc...If he gets poor service in general list then only he will be shifted to his/her respective category according to Rule-16[2] of Civil services....So, definitely you will get IRS but for IPS you need to keep your finger crossed and hope for the final allocation....wish you a good career ahead...further query is welcome...keep blogging...

Reply to Mr Puneet and Mr Sandeep

Hello Mr Puneet and Mr Sandeep, thanks for your visit on the blog.....congratulations for getting in to CSE-2009....regarding your query...at the rank of 319 and 270, I hope that both of you will get IRS[IT] ...You will get the offer letter from Dopt and at the time of foundation course, you will get the offer letter from your academy and Ministry of Finance [in your case]...you need not take any action on your own...however you can visit Dopt website [www.persmin.nic.in] for medical related status....you can also visit NADT website for joining instructions in the month of November or December...further query is welcome...keep blogging...
