Hello Mr Puneet and Mr Sandeep, thanks for your visit on the blog.....congratulations for getting in to CSE-2009....regarding your query...at the rank of 319 and 270, I hope that both of you will get IRS[IT] ...You will get the offer letter from Dopt and at the time of foundation course, you will get the offer letter from your academy and Ministry of Finance [in your case]...you need not take any action on your own...however you can visit Dopt website [www.persmin.nic.in] for medical related status....you can also visit NADT website for joining instructions in the month of November or December...further query is welcome...keep blogging...

sir, thanks for the previous query help..but i just got some data and there is one new query..
my rank is 270 (general)...
my preference IAS...IFS...IPS..IRS(IT).IRS(C&CE)
and there are about 168-169 general candidates above me......
(72-73 OBC....5 ST ....and 21 SC also above my rank)
as per vacancies given in press notification....66/130 seats for general in IAS, 77/150 in IPS for general....15/30 for gen in IFS.........total it means 158 general candidates...
what is the procedure for candidates ,who belong to categories and they get ranks where they can get their preferences like any general category with same rank would have got......
...are they counted as general candidate or they fill up those seats that are meant for their respective category...
regarding people above my rank also some may be already IPS and again IPS this time, some ladies also do not opt for IPS...some medically unfit cases too...and may be some exceptional cases with IPS not as one of top 3-4 choice
my query is whether my calculations are right...and is there any chance of IPS...

I've got AIR 285 in CSE-2009, and had chosen IA&AS as my fourth choice of service. Can you please tell me what the service conditions are like? Where can I find out details like transfer policy, can choose zones in which one works etc? Thanks in advance!

Sir, I got rank as a gen candidate in top 300(between 255 and 275)
(but I belong to OBC non creamy layer..and never used benefit of OBC at any stage of exam...nor did i disclose it in any upsc form of pre,mains,interview)
....but yesterday supreme court gave a judgement giving benefit to the meritorious reserved category candidates while claiming reservation during allocation of service...
sir does that mean...that I can now ask for the benefit...suppose from IRS(general candidate) to claim IPS as an OBC claim
if the answer is yes....then what should be the procedure...
sir kindly help me in this regard..as I do not have access to any officer or other learned person to guide me....
