Hello Mr Nikhil, thanks for your visit on the blog….regarding allocation to IAS…It depends on the number of vacancies in a particular year and in a particular category as well as the choice indicated by the candidates in their mains exam form….The allocation process is manual but quite rational…..Rank-82 will definitely get IAS [provided He/She has filled it as his/her first choice in mains exam]….further query is welcome….keep blogging…..

Thanks a lot.I would like to know can a General quota person loose to OBC quota in allocation of IAS or put this way -can general seats can be alloted to OBC persons in IAS?Because there still seems to be 10-11 seats left in general quota,since there are 60 seats and only 49 seats have been allotted (IAS)to general quota in this year2008 CSE service allocation..What are the rules and criteria?Will they allot rest of the seats later rankwise?Please throw some light on this.Regards
