Reply to Mr /Miss Anonymous

Hello Mr/Miss Anonymous, thanks for your visit on the blog and kind words about it...Regarding your query, there are some candidates in the past which were not allotted any post due to disability but the real cause may be the vague medical standards or the requirement but later on all of them must be accommodated....so you should not worry about it....about the next query, I am not sure about the exact method of determination of the level of disability...for this you can refer the UPSC website or can contact to any doctor who is conducting medical examinations....the only thing which I can advice you is...you fill your status as handicap and write the exam....at the time of medical examination, if you fall in the disability category then you will get the benefit of reservation otherwise you will be considered as normal candidate...and of course at the time of medical ,your physical status will be taken care of...don't worry about these sundry things...just focus on study and do hard work to crack the exam...these things are small in nature...so go ahead and remove all of your worries from your mind..good luck.....further query is welcome...keep blogging...

though this might sound trivial, but I am a little curious to know about life at NACEN. How are the rooms? are they air conditioned or air cooled? What all services are taken care by the room attendant and how is the food...
If i get a first hand experience it will help me scale down/up my expectations accordingly :)

Sir, CSE 08 was my first attempt and have been allotted C&CE and have also cleared pre CSE 09. But I have been giving a lot of thought to things and wanted your take on it, and will be grateful if you could share your perpective and help me look at the whole thing from a angle, which I probably missed.
I tried listing down the reasons as to why i want to go thro with the second attempt-
a) I want supossedly more sought after IFS/IAS
b) Because everybody does it so even i should.
I realised that even if i get IFS, i will not join as I am married woman and work life balance is imp to me, which does not mean that i am any less ambitious about my career.
If I get IAS, i will not have the guts to let go of IRS, not knowing which cadre i will be allotted, later in the trng
IPS is something I never aimed at.
hence choice-b seemed to be the only reason...
After looking at what all material i could find online about C&CE, I find it equally challenging hence am thinking of sticking with this service and make the most of it and not waste more years in exams and trng

I will be highly obliged it you could share your perspective.
Regards

Sir, I will joining the 61st batch at NACEN. I understand that the trng will for 16 months.
hence its will very useful for me if you could tell me the salary a probationary offcr draws, so that i can manage my current finances and plan for the trng period.
Thanks & Regards
