I hope you are doing fine.I have some questions concerning Civil Services Exams.I hope you would be able to provide a satisfactory answer.
(1)Could you please tell me what could be the possible highest score in General Essay paper?Last year the 1sr ranker got 140 marks.So should I presume that anything around 120-140 is good score.My curiosity lies in the fact that can presentation of the essay with good and neat handwriting coupled with a descent content fetch 120-140.Can one add sub-titles also?What are the criteria an examiner takes into account while awarding marks?
I have attached an EPW article for your reference.The topic is "Untouchability".There are subtitles which add value to that essay.
(2)My optionals are Sociology and Public Administration.I have prepared Sociology very well as it was my subject in graduation and post graduation.I want to score 375 plus marks in this paper because I have prepapred all the topis well.Last year CSE rank 2 scored 370 in Sociology(194 in paper-2);so I think one can score good marks in this optional.How i can polish my answers?I am sure to get 194 one has to write answers better than everyone else.So your inputs will be a blessing for me since you have better idea.
(3)My second option is Public Administration.I have finished this optional as well,but I am not that confidant in this paper as sociology.Last year trend shows that one can score 350 plus marks in this discipline also.I have covered all the topics well from the books and coaching material you mentioned in your previous blogs.Still I would be gratefull if you could tell me the ways through which I can improve my answers.Since you had Public Administration as one of your optionals;you could be my mentor in helping me to score good marks.
(4)I know that with slightly hard work and good strategy one can score about 300 plus marks in the optionals and 120 around in Essay.But the real test is to score 140 in Essay and 350 plus in options.Since it is my childhood dream to get into IFS and I am ready to do hardwork,your suggestions will be much appreciated.
(5)Last year CSE Interview marks of top 5 rankers are-210,200,215,192,183.I am sure one can score this much marks and may be better than this.I need your permission to send my bio-data to you so that you can suggest what possible questions can arise from my CV.
I know you might be wondering about my long mails you get time and again from me with one or two attachments.But as I mentioned that I want to see myself in Mussoorie in 2011 so I can spend subsantial amount of time to find ways to improve my performance and then giving you all the credit for my success.So please take your time in replying my queries.
